Our Staff

Father Chad Magnuson, Ph.D.

Pastor

A Fox Valley native with sojourns in Oklahoma and Virginia, this prof-turned pastor is excited to be back home and serve the people of the Fox Cities. When long seasons of intellectualism, workaholism, and self-reliance brought him to a breaking point, Chad found healing, freedom, and transformation through the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures, and the sacramental life of the historic Church. And he’s passionate about helping others find freedom in Jesus and a family in his Church.

Outside of planting Incarnation, you might find Chad playing piano, hiking in the woods, hanging out with family, or cheering for a Wisconsin team. Or more likely making a fussy cup of coffee.

Kirstin Magnuson

Connections Pastor

Born and raised in the Fox Valley, Kirstin returns to her homeland after 20+ years. During that time, she encountered the deep love of God, which has reshaped her longings and loves. While she still enjoys musicals, brisk walks, and new adventures, she is most passionate about seeing people go from knowing about God to knowing Him personally. She has a heart for connecting people to the body of Christ so that they may grow in their relationship with Jesus and with one another.

If she is running late for something, it’s usually because she got lost in conversation or tried to squeeze in one more load of laundry or text. While she values organization, her desk (dining room table) is graced with a vast array of paper notes. She is energized by a houseful of people laughing and playing games, along with warm, bright, sunny days… preferably near water.

Jocelyn Pinkert

Kids Ministry Director

Born with the mind of a teacher and the heart of an encourager, Jocelyn loves helping people of all ages learn more about Jesus and experience His joy in their lives. Her love of creation and the beauty of God’s patterns in it led her to study chemistry and eventually teach it to high schoolers. But it was the transition to stay-at-home motherhood that Christ used to most fully refine her heart of service and develop a life of trust in God’s abundant goodness.

Life with her husband and three boys is a glorious adventure, and she is up for fun anywhere it can be found. She would definitely love to have a cup of coffee with you, and if you see a cool bird, be sure to let her know.

Chris Hansen

Music Director

Chris returned to his hometown of Appleton, WI to join Church of the Incarnation after attending college and working in Chicago, IL. There he attended Moody Bible Institute, was connected with the Diocese of the Upper Midwest, and began a Master of Divinity program at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is passionate about bringing the church’s rich theological heritage and her spiritually formative practices into the weekly rhythms of church music. Alongside being a musician and seminary student, Chris is a carpenter and does apartment maintenance around the Fox Valley. He loves working on projects in the wood shop, brewing a well-crafted cup of coffee, playing soccer, hiking, and - of course - a long road trip.

Seth Whitaker, Ph.D.

Pastoral Resident

Seth is a proud Okie from Muskogee who married a Wisconsinite and now lives in Oshkosh. Born and raised in Oklahoma, he attended Oral Roberts University and lived in Tulsa as a student and youth pastor for several years before moving abroad to St Andrews, Scotland to study the Bible. Along with traveling and study, Seth enjoys family time, good food, basketball, disc golf, and exploring the great outdoors. He also likes discussing religion, history, culture, agriculture, education, theology, and Bible interpretation.

Emily Wallace

Parish Administrator

From Sheboygan, Emily now lives in a beautiful old Appleton home with her husband, Kieran, and their daughter. Emily and Kieran met at St. Norbert College where she graduated with degrees in English and Communication. She is excited to take on the role of parish administrator - what a wonderful way to combine her education and work experience with her faith!

In her free time, Emily loves to pursue the quiet things in life - walking along the riverfront, cooking new meals and baking treats, reading with her daughter, and supporting her husband in his role as band director at Xavier high school. Emily and her family are grateful to be able to join in on Incarnation’s passionate community.
